UAE celebrates status as 'global hub of culture'
The United Arab Emirates will hold its fifth Culture Summit in Abu Dhabi next week to celebrate its cosmopolitan people and cement its status as the world center of culture. The Emirates have long invested in international culture and its capital is home to the Louvre Abu Dhabi, the Arabian Peninsula’s largest art museum, and the summit includes a guided tour of the museum. It also houses the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi Museum of Contemporary Art, an offshoot of the original museum in New York. The UAE is indeed a global cultural hub, Johan Burger, director of executive education at the University of the United Arab Emirates’ College of Business and Economics, told The Media Line that this is partly due to its large and diverse expat population of B’huth, the Dubai Center for Public Policy Research, told The Media Line that the UAE is a global cultural one because of its “demographic inclusivity” and “the country’s emphasis on cultural values that unite diverse religions and cultures.
