Abu Dhabi Financial Week hosts the Sustainable Finance Summit
Abu Dhabi Financial Week, organized by Abu Dhabi Global Market, the global financial center of the capital of the United Arab Emirates, today witnessed the first edition of the Sustainable Finance Summit (RACE), dedicated to the most important and topical axes of sustainability in the financial sector, namely regulation, awareness-raising and cooperation. And the whole system. The Summit was organized in cooperation with the Authority for Community Contribution (“Together”). The summit focused on and covered a wide range of issues.
In this regard, it should be noted that Abu Dhabi Financial Week is a carbon neutral event, where Abu Dhabi Global Market is partnering with the ACX Voluntary Carbon Market platform to achieve carbon neutrality through a carbon offset program reach. It does this by purchasing carbon credits from projects that are working to reduce or capture carbon emissions. Major environmental initiatives were launched at the RACE Summit, including the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Jubail Island and Abu Dhabi Global Market.
As part of its commitment to reducing carbon emissions, Abu Dhabi Global Market has committed to planting 15,000 mangrove trees, helping to meet Jubail Island’s goal of planting a forest of one million new mangrove trees on the island. This initiative is in line with the UAE’s national political agenda to plant 100 million mangrove trees by 2030 and with Jubail Island’s plans to plant 98 7 million mangrove trees annually over the next decade, as the island has a number of mangrove trees has maintained ventures with private institutions and government agencies in the UAE capital.
