During the group’s participation in the 27th Conference of the Parties (COP27) e& announced its target of net-zero emissions by 2030, aiming to reduce carbon emissions across its operations and accelerate their efforts to contribute to global climate protection.
Mariam bint Mohammed Almheiri, Minister of Climate Change and Environment, said: “The UAE, together with its partners, is taking massive action to address the global challenges related to climate change and is leading the energy transition by reducing the carbon footprint reduce hydrocarbon emissions.
“We are committed to being the first country in the MENA region to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050, knowing that implementing clean and sustainable technologies and investing in renewable energy projects in developing countries will allow us to more effectively contribute to the future of humanity.
